This October will conclude my 6th full year of being enrolled at Darul Uloom Canada. I arrived here lacking in all aspects, in terms of how a true mu’min should be, whether it be manners, knowledge of basic everyday rulings or knowing anything at all about our Prophet Mohammadصلى الله عليه وسلم. Now, as I stand on the threshold of graduation, I can say this much with confidence, that I have at least started to understand the relationship I have with my Creator جل جلاله, and his Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلمwhich I could not have attained without the people I met here and the environment I was provided with. It has changed my life ways I could never imagine. I thank Allah for the priceless opportunity I was given, being able to attend this blessed institute.

All praise is due to Allah, the One who chose me to serve His religion. I thank Allah for granting me this astounding opportunity, and I pray that He keeps me firm upon this enlightened path. In the beginning, my journey at Darul Uloom Canada was very difficult, and at times I felt lost. But Alhamdulillah, after meeting my teacher and spiritual guide, Mufti Hussain Ahmad Badri, I found renewed inspiration to remain steadfast in the pursuit of sacred knowledge. May Allah preserve him, grant him long life, and keep his protective shadow over us for many years to come. After finally coming so close to the finish line, I can finally say that it was all worth it. May Allah keep us all in his infinite mercy. Ameen

To say the least, my first and last impressions of Darul Uloom are very different. When I first arrived, I didn’t have much enthusiasm to be here and thought it would just be a short stop in life. But as the years passed, through the care and support of my teachers, I began to appreciate Darul Uloom for what it truly is and to develop a deeper value for my Deen. I will never forget the amazing friendships and incredible experiences I had throughout my time here. I feel truly honored to call Darul Uloom my home, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

I graduated as a hifz student from Darul Uloom and am now honoured to be in my final year of the Alimiyyah program Alhamdulillah. Although this might sound like an achievement, this isn't even half of what I've benefited from this institute. Darul Uloom has shaped me as a person in a multitude of ways, from being a little hifz kid to now, Alhamdulillah, being close to graduating. Seeing the effect that Darul Uloom has had not only on the students, but on Chatham as a community, is close to unheard of. More than half the Muslims in this community are, without a doubt, only here because of Darul Uloom. As of now, Chatham continues to be my residence, but moving forward, wherever studies take me, I hope I can continue to be connected to my amazing teachers at Darul Uloom, and continue to benefit from them.
