Our  Founder

This website is dedicated to preserving the legacy and continuing the mission of Hadhrat Dr. Mohammad Ismail Memon (رحمه الله)—a unique individual who harmonized profound Islamic scholarship, spiritual excellence, and professional accomplishment. As a distinguished student of the eminent Shaykh al-Hadith, Hadhrat Mawlana Zakariya Kandhlawi (رحمه الله), Dr. Mohammad Ismail Memon was nurtured under one of the greatest scholars and spiritual mentors of the 20th century. From him, he inherited a deep commitment to tazkiya (spiritual purification), sacred knowledge, and the service of Deen.

Born in India, Hadhrat Dr. Mohammad Ismail Memon (رحمه الله) displayed exceptional intellectual and spiritual aptitude from an early age. After his family migrated to Pakistan, he pursued secular education and graduated with a medical degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi—one of the country's most prestigious institutions. While he excelled in the field of medicine, his heart remained anchored in the pursuit of Islamic learning and spiritual refinement.

His journey eventually led him to the sacred city of Madinah Munawwarah, where he served the community as a physician while remaining in close companionship with his teacher and beloved mentor, Shaykh Zakariya (رحمه الله) for over two decades. It was during this spiritually formative period that he was granted ijazah (authorization) in the path of tazkiya, entrusting him with the responsibility of guiding others toward inner purification and nearness to Allah ﷻ.

In 1985, with a sincere desire to serve the Ummah in the West and to fulfill the wishes of his Shaykh, Hadhrat Dr. Mohammad Ismail Memon (رحمه الله) migrated to North America. Recognizing the pressing need for authentic Islamic scholarship and spiritual guidance, he went on to establish several institutions, with Darul Uloom Canada becoming the culmination of his lifelong efforts.

These institutions became beacons of traditional Islamic learning and spiritual development for Muslims across the continent. Through his tireless efforts, humility, and unwavering sincerity, Hadhrat Dr. Mohammad Ismail Memon (رحمه الله) positively impacted the lives of thousands around the world—as a teacher, a mentor, a spiritual guide, and a servant of the Ummah. He nurtured not only scholars, but sincere, God-conscious individuals dedicated to living and spreading the light of Islam. He passed away in February 2023.

Today, this platform stands as a humble continuation of his mission. It seeks to preserve his teachings, share his vision, and inspire future generations through the timeless legacy he left behind—a legacy rooted in sacred knowledge, spiritual refinement, and service to Allah ﷻ and His Messenger ﷺ. May Allah ﷻ accept his efforts, elevate his ranks, and allow us to continue benefiting from his legacy.
 Ameen.
